Tips
- After 40, the numbers end with “-enta”
- In Brazilian Portuguese you usually get the number and “and” and the next number, for example: 25 – vinte e cinco.
- Most students have problems with numbers with 5, so pay more attention on that. 5 (cinco), 15 (quinze), 50 (cinquenta).
- From 11 to 15 the number end with “-ze” (onze, doze, treze, quatorze, quinze)
- After 16 you get “dez” + “e” + number. Example: 16 – dez E seis (dezesseis) / 17 – dez E sete (dezessete) – We have to write with 2 “S” – dezessete not dezesete – because “S” between vowels has the sound of “Z” and we want “S” so 2 “S” have sound of “S”.
